Getting your dental scan
We retrieve your dental scan from your practitioner. If we can't retrieve it, we set up an appointment with a scanning partner near you at no extra cost. Scan retrieval or a scanning appointment is included with every order.

Do I need a new dental scan?
Usually not. If you've had braces, aligners or a retainer made, your dentist or orthodontist likely has a scan on file. We request it for you. If they can't send it, we book you a free appointment with a scanning partner.
Is the price for an upper and a lower?
Yes. Every price on this page is for a full pair. The subscription plan is billed $245 every six months for 1 upper and lower retainer pair per paid cycle.
Will it fit like my current retainer?
It's made from the same kind of scan your orthodontist uses. If it doesn't fit right in the first 30 days, we remake it.
Why does it only last six months?
PHA is built to break down instead of persisting in your body. The subscription plan sends a fresh pair before that happens.
Can I use HSA or FSA funds?
Yes. Pay with your HSA or FSA card at checkout.
Can I cancel the subscription plan?
Yes. You can pause or cancel anytime. Turn off renewal before your next billing date and you won't be charged again.
How do I clean my retainer?
The same way you'd clean any retainer. Just avoid soaking it in water for more than six hours, and keep it away from very hot water.
Why isn't it perfectly clear?
Crystal-clear plastic needs chemical clarifiers and stabilizers. We leave them out. The slight translucence is the material in its natural state.

What's a scan?

A dental scan is a digital, 3D model of your teeth, a record of their shape and position. It gives us the blueprint for your custom retainers.

    A digital impression of your teeth.

    An intraoral scanner captures your teeth and gums as a 3D model on a computer screen. There’s no putty mould to bite into.

    We need that digital scan file. An X-ray, physical impression, or your existing retainer can’t replace it.

    If you’ve had braces, aligners, or a retainer made, your practitioner may already have a scan on file. After you order, our onboarding has you share their details and sign a quick authorization. Our concierge team requests the file for you.

    No scan on file, or can’t retrieve it? We’ll arrange a scanning appointment near you and pay for it. Scan retrieval or a scanning appointment is included with every order.

    Made for your teeth.

    We use your scan to make a model of your teeth, then shape pure PHA over it. That’s how we make an upper and lower pair that follows the shape of your teeth.

    On their way in five days.
